How to increase engagement by 4% by moving a Filter menu

In early 2024, we wanted to test the impact of a small UI change. Performing this simple low-effort test would give us signal on whether we should invest more resources on UX/UI. It would also demonstrate to leadership that it was worth doing.
In 1 day, we decided to move the location of our eCommerce Filter menu to a more universal location. During the A/B test, we found a small but significant trend (+4%) of increased engagement with the filter menu after moving it to it's new location.
